Concept
The Mews at Atwater Village is an eco-friendly green project which will consist of 23 single family homes in Los Angeles. The homes will use retractable glass walls to open up large sections to the outdoors, expanding the living areas dramatically and allowing air to flow through the home. All homes come with a fully integrated solar energy system. The photovoltaic panels will generate energy to power most of the homes electrical needs, including an electric hot water system.
 
Other green features include:

  • Plentiful day lighting featuring operable windows and walls

  • Energy efficient appliances
  • Concrete & bamboo flooring
 
Neighborhood
 
The Mews is located in Atwater Village, an exciting neighborhood northwest of downtown Los Angeles, near Glendale. Restaurants, shopping, recreation, and cultural activities are all within close proximity. Most shopping areas consist of locally owned businesses and boutiques, which supports the sustainability of the local area. Griffith Park is just a short trip away.
 
Homes
 
Homes at The Mews are feature modern finishes and very functional features. Polished concrete floors are on the main level, which extent into the homes exterior living area. The mid-century modern design includes bamboo floors on the second floor, white marble counter tops, recessed lighting, high ceilings, and oversized windows. 
 
Many of the homes have unobstructed views of the surrounding area, since the project is located above the rooflines of neighboring homes. Also, all homes feature private courtyards which allow for additional outdoor space. 
 
The Mews homes will be spacious, starting around 1,500 square feet with a 2 car garage and outdoor space. The homes are priced at a considerable value given the location, size, and square footage.
 
Transportation
The Mews is located near several major transportation options. The Glendale Amtrak and Glendale Metrolink are just a few blocks away, which makes transportation into LA and all over California very easy. The community is also located near I-5, which makes getting around LA via automobile an option.
