Overview
Prairie Crossing is a transit-oriented community intensely focused on limiting its impact on the surrounding environment. Located on nearly 700 acres of land in Grayslake, about 45 miles north of Chicago, this community has preserved 60% of its property as wetlands, prairie and organic farmland. They feature 359 single family homes and 36 condominiums which are currently under construction.
Many of the residents of Prairie Crossing work in Chicago and commute easily by rail. Prairie Crossing has its own Metra stop for a 35-minute hassle-free and environmentally-friendly commute to downtown Chicago or O'Hare airport. Across the street from the train station is a collection of unique shops and restaurants.
The condo units at Prairie Crossing have achieved a 5+++ Energy Star Rating, which makes them the highest ranked multi-unit building in the tri-state area. Some of the features we like are:
