Concept
Villa Triste is a collection of new construction green homes in the master planned community of Summerlin in Las Vegas. The homes, built by Pulte, will use significantly less energy than comparable single family homes and feature many new green technologies. Once finished, each home will obtain a LEED Platinum rating.
The Home Energy Rating System(HERS) can confirm the high level of energy efficiency for homes at Villa Triste. HERS assigns every home a rating based on its efficiency, with a higher number being worse. While a typical single family home scores a 130 and a typical Energy Star home scores an 85, a Villa Triste home scores an impressive 43.
Neighborhood
Summerlin is a massive 22,500 acre master-planned community in which Villa Triste is located. The community is on the west side of Las Vegas. Summerlin features over 100 parks and 150 miles of winding walking and biking paths, which provide extraordinary views of the surrounding mountains. Within the community there are plentiful sports fields, golf courses, and quiet parks. However, with it's location adjacent to the red rock natural conservation area, there is plenty of exploring to do outside of the community as well.
Homes
Pulte has employed many green features in each home built at Villa Triste. The end result is a home with very low monthly energy costs. All homes will include the following green features:
- Solar roof panels (sun tiles) which blend in with the shingles
- Smart thermostats
- Energy Star appliances
- Low VOC paints
- Blown in insulation
- Recycled materials
Homes will also include water saving features like dual flush toilets and tankless water heaters.
Villa Triste will offers 4 single family home models to choose from. All homes are 2 stories and feature at least 2 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms. Attractive exterior styles will help to create variety throughout the community. Homes have a 2 car attached garage and start at just under 1,500 square feet.
Transportation
Villa Triste is located on the west side of Las Vegas, about 15 miles from the strip. Transportation by bus is possible as the nearest bus stop is about 1/2 mile from the community. However, most residents will likely need automobile transportation. The community is within about a mile drive from Charleston Blvd, which offers shopping, restaurants and other attractions.
