Overview
Concept
Located on a beautiful hill, just a few minutes walk from downtown Asheville is Sky Loft, a new 69 unit condo complex. Sky Loft provides residents with the feel of a private village with views of the beautiful surrounding mountains. Balconies will overlook lush community spaces, landscaped with native plants and flowers, where residents can gather on a daily basis.
The development was carefully designed with the earth in mind. Not only do the units contain interior finishes which are eco-friendly, but the buildings themselves are a model for sustainable living as well.
The several buildings at Sky Loft are made using a new modular construction process which allows for much greater quality control and much higher building standards. Units are pre-assembled offsite in a temperature controlled environment, which reduces exposure to harmful elements and moisture. Once assembled, it is nearly impossible to tell that the units were not built on site. This is not you parents idea of a pre-fab home.
Green features of the building/development include:
- Recycled building materials used extensively
- Underground drip irrigation used on native plants, to drastically reduce landscaping water usage
- Advanced HVAC systems, which reduce power usage and increase indoor air quality
- Thick interior and exterior walls which increase insulation values and decrease noise transmission
Neighborhood
Sky Loft is just a 5 block walk from the heart of Asheville. Within a half mile from the development, residents will find just about all of their everyday conveniences as well as many places for enjoyment and learning. Asheville is home to some of the best art houses and performance venues in the country. It is also know for a nationally accredited parks and recreation department. Bike paths wind through every part of the city, and within just a few miles are mountain hiking paths, white water rafting, and snowboard slopes. The city truly offers it all.
Homes
There will be 69 condominiums at Sky Loft when all is complete. Units range from 850 to over 1,900 square feet, and are available in 1, 2, and 3 bedroom plans. Prices start in the mid $100s and top off in the mid $500s.
In general units are open and very flexible. Large windows let in lots of natural light, and advanced systems retain cool air in the summer and warm air in the winter. Every unit has a nice balcony, and some of the larger units have multiple larger outdoor spaces. Standard finishes are very well appointed.

A sliding wall in the main living space provides the ability to easily section off or expand the room in a few seconds. This is perfect for creating a large space for gatherings, or sectioning off spaces for privacy and functionality at other times.
