Overview
Concept & Neighborhood
Villebois (pronounced Veal-bwa) approaches the idea of being sustainable as more than just building all of their homes with green features. They also believe in the importance of sustainability on a larger scale, from a community standpoint. That is why the development is designed to promote a sense of place and pride. This is done through thoughtful street layouts and the prime placement of community spaces.
Action centers around the vibrant village center, which features: parks, live music, retail shops and restaurants and loft style living. Throughout the community there are 160 acres of parks and open space, strategically placed in the center of neighborhoods where neighbors can gather. Sidewalks and bike paths wind throughout the community, offering an easy and beautiful way for neighbors to get around.
Villebois features permeable pavers and asphalt along with retention ponds and green rooftops, which all contribute to substantial reduction of runoff to the surrounding rivers and lakes. 90% of construction materials were recycled from the old buildings that were removed before construction began.
The Homes
Villebois features lofts, rowhomes, townhomes and single family homes. When complete, there will be 2,500 homes with prices from the low $200's through the upper $700's. Homes feature a wide variety of styles, including French, English, American Modern or American Classic. All homes are constructed using eco-friendly building techniques and energy efficient appliances. Most homes include water saving shower heads and toilets, dual pane insulated windows and meet Earth Advantage requirements for indoor air quality.
Transportation
Getting to Portland and Salem from Villebois is easy. The community is quickly accessible from I-5 and features the new WES Commuter Rail Station, which is within walking distance of many of the communities homes. Bus stops are located throughout the community.
