Concept/Neighborhood
The Retreat at Johns Island is an intimate neighborhood of 59 homes built by Crescent Homes. The neighborhood is characterized by large oak trees, which border the community and line the streets. Homes are built to Earth Craft standards, making them up to 40% more efficient than similar sized homes in the area. Amenities at the community include walking trails, tennis courts, and small gathering spaces locate under old growth oak trees.
Crescent Homes finds the inspiration for it's communities by looking back in time, towards the early twentieth century. They aim to create neighborhoods which get their character from the social relationships among neighbors. The sidewalks are abundant, and homes are built with front porches close to the street in order to encourage conversation. The focus of the street is on the pedestrian and not the automobile, making for safer communities. Finally, parks and community spaces are common throughout the communities, providing a place for kids to play and adults to gather.
Homes
There are 9 floorplans to choose from which vary from just under 1,500 square feet to over 2,500 square feet. Homes are available in a ranch and two story style. Large front porches, spacious interior layouts, and eco-friendly finishes characterize the homes. A variety of exterior styles are available, ranging form vinyl siding to brick & stone combinations.
