Overview

Belvedere Concept

Belvedere is a green community consisting of approximately 400 beautiful eco-friendly homes near Charlottesville, Virginia. Nestled within the rolling hills of Virginia, Belvedere was designed from the ground up, with the principals of having respect for the land and respect for the residents as the top priorities. This is not a community full of cookie cutter homes and cul-de-sacs, but rather a thoughtful collection of homes, which will live in harmony with nature.

Belvedere is seeking LEED Neighborhood Development certification and each home is built to EarthCraft standards. The community will offer walking trails, pocket parks, and lots of green space throughout the 207 acre development. There is also an organic farm, soccer fields, an office park, and a vibrant town center. Other green community features include:

Storm water management with on site filtration
Strategic solar exposure for all LEED certified community buildings
Protected areas of native trees, plants, and flowers
Convenient recycling throughout the community
Walkable destinations within the neighborhood

Neighborhood

The homes surround a vibrant town center, which will become the central hub of activity for the community. At the town center residents will be able to enjoy a drink at the café or brew pub, have a meal at the restaurant, or get a workout at the fitness center. There will also be a few retail offerings for those interested in shopping.

The Village Green is a central green space at Belvedere where residents can gather and enjoy their beautiful community. In the center of the Village Green is a natural amphitheater, which will likely play host to community events and performances.

Belvedere also offers several miles of trails which weave throughout the community. Residents will enjoy pleasant riverfront views and a wonderful way to quickly access the community amenities. Trail surfaces range from paved surfaces for biking and jogging to grass, gravel, and dirt surfaces for a more natural hiking experience.

There are several public and private schools within a short commute from Belvedere.

Belvedere Homes

Belvedere offers several styles of homes in order to meet the needs of a wide variety of residents. Lofts, townhomes, and single family homes make up the offering. Homes range from about 1,700 to over 3,000 square feet. There are multiple builders to choose from at Belvedere. Each builder offers several floorplans.

Homes at Belvedere are built to the standards of the EarthCraft Building Program. There are several different builders used, so it isn't possible to outline specific green materials used, however, the EarthCraft Building Program standards include:

Resource efficiency building materials
Water conservation including low flow faucetry and rainwater collection

Transportation

Belvedere is located just 2.5 miles from downtown Charlottesville. Getting around the area is mostly via automobile, as the local population is not large enough to support mass transit. State sponsored biking and hiking trails are also available.
