Overview
Concept
VEER Lofts is a 99 unit loft building located in Seattle's South Lake Union neighborhood. The LEED certified building is made from many recycled materials and includes a recycling center, drought tolerant landscaping and many water saving fixtures. Passive solar design in the form of large window walls in each unit create a bright indoor environment and reduce the demand on heating systems.
The building is ultra cool. Owners are urged to be creative with their living spaces, creating a building full of personalized lofts. On the roof is a large deck and landscaped area, complete with several bocce ball courts. Ground floor retail completes the building, offering residents many every day conveniences.
Neighborhood
South Lake Union is a quickly developing neighborhood in Seattle with lots of restaurants, cafes, and shopping popping up. There is a new whole foods which was completed recently just a few blocks away. Across from the building is a large park. Check out the WalkScore map below to get an idea of what is in the area.
Homes
VEER Lofts offers three types of living spaces. They are Flats, Flexi Lofts, and Full Lofts.
- Flats - One level living ranging from 624 to 728 square feet
- Flexi Lofts - Feature a loft with a low ceiling and range from 597 to 737 square feet
- Full Lofts - Include a full loft which overlooks the living space and range from 786 to 1,067 square feet
All lofts have a bedroom area, a large combined kitchen and living area and some of the larger units include a den and a second bath. These spaces are extremely versatile and stylish with concrete floors and large wooden beams running across the ceiling. The developer encourages residents to experiment with their unit, personalizing it as much as possible.
Homes feature floor to ceiling windows along one wall, which allows for abundant sunlight, and saves on energy costs. Low VOC (volatile organic compounds) paints and finishes are used throughout the units to create a healthier indoor living environment.
Transportation
VEER Lofts is located across the street from the South Lake Union street car and just a few blocks away from everything that downtown Seattle has to offer. The street car easily connects with most major Seattle neighborhoods. For those with a car, underground parking is included with most units. There is also a bike storage facility on site.
